WHO IS THIS ASSOCIATION ?  Those who provide on-site wastewater services are entitled to professional recognition and respect.  On-site wastewater service is a multi-million dollar industry and the people who perform this vitally important function deserve to be paid as other professionals are.  A professional association is an excellent way to accomplish this mission and this association is dedicated to it.

The members of this professional association are business people who install and maintain onsite wastewater systems in New Mexico, and also those who are pumpers, manufacturers, system designers, inspectors, educators, regulators, and affiliated businesses. Our membership represents all areas of the state.   At hearings of various governmental regulatory bodies and the State Legislature, groups and individuals testify that they represent the onsite industry, but POWRA-NM is indeed, the only organization truly composed of people who work in this industry every day.  Some of our members sit on advisory boards and testify in public hearings on behalf of the onsite industry.

POWRA attends Environmental Improvement Board (EIB) hearings on rule changes and made significant contributions to the regulations that were adopted.  For the last 3 New Mexico Legislative sessions , POWRA has lobbied for legislation favorable to the industry.  POWRA has also worked to expand professional education and continuing education opportunities for people in our industry.
